Land Acknowledgement:

I’m in NYC on the traditional land of the Lenape Peoples past and present, and honor with gratitude, apology, and grief to the land itself and the people who have stewarded it throughout the generations. This calls us to commit to continuing to learn how to be better stewards of the land we inhabit as well. The name Manhattan derives from the Lenape word for Island.

Hi, my name is Mindy Levine

Throughout my life, I have done different things. I have my masters in education, I’ve opened a NYC restaurant, I had an online business, and even wrote a novel (still in my drawer). I’ve also spent those same years on the yoga mat, as a student and as a facilitator since 2008. Yoga was a path for me. It helped me notice what it felt like to move and live inside my body.

Sustaining curiosity is important to me and I have thousands of hours of continuing education. For the past decade, I’ve been veering more towards trauma care interventions. I am trained as a crisis counselor and volunteer with Crisis Text Line. In 2018 I began my training as a TCTSY-F (Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator) out of The Center for Trauma & Embodiment (CFTE), out of JRI. Recently, I began working for CFTE as their donor engagement coordinator.

I studied polyvagal theory with Deb Dana and a heart-based training in relational neuroscience for healing trauma with Bonnie Badenoch.  I launched trauma informed yoga programming for the CPTSD Foundation. I’ve written for and I am now an associate member of the editorial board for the international journal, “Voices Against Torture.” I’m a founding member of Impact 100 NYC, a collective giving nonprofit.

Please feel free to use this feedback form, any time and for any reason.

A bit more about me…

I think it’s important to know more about what I know in terms of my continuing education and how I continue to stay curious. I will mention the longer trainings and also want to acknowledge and thank all the shorter workshops and seminars I’ve taken through the years.
